How to care for lightened hair

Congratulations, you are taking home freshly lightened hair from our studio! To make your new hair last as long as possible, it is important to take proper care of it. Lightened hair slightly changes the hair structure. Even with gentle lightening, the hair loses protein during this process, so it is necessary to replenish it. Otherwise, it leads to rapid breakage, hair breakage, tangles and dull, frizzy hair. We want your hair to be strong and shiny, which is why we have prepared this guide for you.

Do not wash your hair for 48 hours after your visit to us.

PRODUCTS
Unless your hairdresser has recommended otherwise, ZENZ Rhassoul shampoo No. 16 is suitable for lightened hair. You can combine it with any ZENZ Organic conditioner, depending on your current needs. The division of our categories will lead you to the right type of product, or our team members will be happy to advise you. For hair masks, we recommend either ZENZ 03 or MyHero x2, both are of very high quality and change hair beyond recognition #softness!
Delay washing your hair and keep your hair fresh with the help of a quality dry shampoo. We highly recommend #MyDirtySide dry shampoo.

HAIR WASHING
Before washing, comb your hair gently. Dry hair is firmer, so it is better to comb it before washing. Wet your hair thoroughly. First, rub the shampoo all over your palms, and then start massaging your scalp with it. If it does not start to foam, sprinkle a little water on your scalp, or repeat the washing process once more. A flowing lather is enough for your hair, do not rub it in any way. Before using the conditioner, gently dry your hair with a towel. First, apply the conditioner from the ponytail, and then use the remaining thin layer of conditioner on your palms to stroke the hair near the scalp. Let the conditioner absorb for a few seconds, comb through with a plastic brush, and rinse. It is important to add a mask to your routine once a week, which you apply in the same way as the conditioner and use between shampoo and conditioner.

BLOW-DRYING AND HEAT TREATMENT
STRAIGHT HAIR: Towel dry your hair. Apply a heat protectant to damp hair (we recommend myhairlube for thick, frizzy hair, myspotlight for fine hair, or myquickblow to speed up drying) and comb through your hair. This will ensure even distribution of the product. Turn on the hairdryer to the highest speed and medium temperature and blow dry your hair. Start at the scalp, working your way down the lengths. When your hair is almost dry, attach the nozzle to the hairdryer, increase the temperature, grab your favorite brush, and start smoothing your hair from the roots to the ends. You can use a bobby pin or a hair clip to help you, smaller sections will be easier to smooth.
WAVY AND CURLY HAIR: Comb your hair in the shower with conditioner, and apply your favorite styling product designed to support waves and curls to wet hair. Then, bend your hair forward with a cotton t-shirt or cloth, gather your hair from the bottom into your palms and wrinkle the waves with slow strokes. Attach the diffuser to the hair dryer and turn it on to medium heat and speed. First, bend forward around the scalp, then around the lengths. Only when your roots are dry, start gathering your hair into the diffuser from the ends towards the scalp. Alternate with cold air, the waves will be fixed with cold air.

YOUR NEXT VISIT
For full-area hair lightening, keep the frequency of dyeing the regrowth between 4-8 weeks. Each of your hairs grows at a different speed, and if you do not keep to this frequency, uneven discoloration will occur unnecessarily.
With lightening such as Balayage, Airtouch or highlights, on the other hand, you will not experience discoloration in less than 3 months to 1 year. If you are not concerned about covering gray hair and enjoy your natural color with more growth, do not forget to come at least once every six months for a nourishing touch-up and trim of the ends.
